I am a primary school teacher of 30 years and I currently teach a Y4 class. I have been an active union member for all those years and have been the union rep in every school I have worked in.

I am standing in this election because our current National Executive members are both located in Merseyside. Based in Lancashire, but working with colleagues, I want to make sure that all members across Lancashire, Merseyside and the Isle of Man districts have a voice and are fully represented on the National Executive.

I feel it’s important that members have a serving educator/teacher representing them. Only someone working in a classroom every day can have a true picture of what education is really like at the moment.

I have been active in Lancashire and City of Preston NEU for 7 years, holding a variety of district and branch positions and I am the Lead Rep for my MAT. I won North West Rep of the year in 2021, and am the current Chair of the North West Regional Council.

As workplace rep, I led an anti-academy campaign at my own school which resulted in 15 days of strike action and the doubling of our NEU membership. I have spoken about the strike action I led at local, regional and national events,including Annual Conference, and was a speaker at the fantastic PAY UP campaign strike day rallies.

I want to represent you on the issues that matter most: workload, pay, funding, SEND provision, child poverty, anti-academisation, fair pay for supply educators, support staff recognition, and the abolition of OFSTED.
